A great volunteering program which allow the participants to take part in a private art site.  The Foundation, founded by art collectors Geert and Carla Verbeke-Lens, is a private art site which first opened doors to the general public on June 1st of 2007. As a ‘refuge of arts’ the domain offers chances to young and less renowned artists and holds an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art.

Tasks:
  • scenography of expositions: build-up of exhibitions, decoration, preservation, restauration,…
  • animal care, maintenance of green spaces, watering plants, cleaning
  • welcoming visitors, help at the bookshop and bar during events
As a volunteer you will meet art collectors, artists, other volunteers, friends of the museum. You will learn about techniques and material, about trees and plants,…

Social Life
You will be part of a group of international AFS volunteers all over Flanders. Besides, you will stay at the project with other volunteers and artists from all over the world. The Foundation is located in remote and rural area in the North of Flanders. The art site is surrounded by nature. Working days are usually from Wednesday till Sunday, with regular evening activities. We expect you to be flexible.
